How do I apply?
Applying for your £400 Scrappage Scheme voucher is simple. Once you’ve decided which new boiler is right for your home, you’ll need to contact a Gas Safe registered installer for a quote. It’s a good idea to get at least two quotes to make sure you get the best deal.
The next step is to register your interest by emailing the Energy Saving Trust from the link on the Boiler Scrappage Scheme page or by calling their ACT ON CO2 advice line on 0800 512 012.
You’ll need to give them the following details:
- Your full name
- The address of the property you want to claim the voucher for
- The make and name of the boiler being scrapped
- The company name, address and contact details of the installer carrying out the work
- The type of replacement boiler being installed (eg natural gas or LPG)
- Confirmation that you have a received a quote or visit from the installer to carry out the work
When the voucher arrives (approximately ten days after application) you can go ahead with the installation. The gas installer will give you an invoice which you should pay in full when the work is completed. Send a copy of the paid new boiler invoice, together with your scrappage voucher, to the Energy Saving Trust and you should receive a cheque for £400 within 25 working days.
Please be aware that you must receive your voucher before you arrange for the new A-rated boiler to be installed, otherwise you will no longer be able to claim the £400 rebate or reapply to the Boiler Scrappage Scheme.
